Four Children, a submarine and a Shadow Kraken. It's not looking particularly bright, especially when danger lurks around every corner ...
This book was alright, but mermaids aren't really my cup of tea. Of course, it's not all about mermaids- Ursula, a whizz mechanic and a half mermaid, Max, a robot inventor who has a knack for being naughty, Jai, a young explorer who is arrogant and is a stickler for rules, and ,lastly Genie, who is a milliner in the making, but also a Kraken Whisperer.
I liked following their journey, but I don't think I will read it again. This would be brilliant as a class read, or for younger children, but an Eleven year old might not be as excited about it. It is one of those books where you kind of have to choose if you like it for yourself.
