The False Rose by Jakob Wegelius

EvieDunn

🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌We are absolutely bananas about this book!

Blurb:

When Sally Jones and The Chief discovers a curious rose-shaped necklace hidden onboard their beloved Hudson Queen, it’s the start of a perilous adventure for the seafaring gorilla and her faithful friend.

Our Review:

Back in the port of Lisbon, Sally Jones and The Chief are taking on as many jobs as possible in order to fix up the Hudson Queen. While The Chief helps out at sea, Sally Jones finds a shady character lurking around their ship and breaking in, which ends up leading them to Glasgow and to where it all began…

This sequel is so good! I loved the whole adventure and as always there is an extremely detailed plot. There’s are unexpected twists, incredibly witty characters and when the story is revealed it all clicks into place!

Considering how well written the first book is I was not expecting anything as good to come next, but this was definitely a brilliant way to follow up The Murderer’s Ape. I really recommend this book- although reading the first is probably a good idea because they talk about events that happened in the last one. I would say that it is slightly adult- it could scare younger children so 10+ is a good age.

Happy Reading! Evie
