Our review:
Fred ,Con ,Lila and Max come up against endless problems and obstacles , until they meet the Explorer. He has a kind heart below the hard surface of his appearance and his experience of life has been depressing so far. But when Max falls into a life and death situation, he really shows his love for the children. What I loved about this book is how different the characters are. Fred is a sickly child and has always longed for adventure, with is why I connected with him. Con (short for Constantia) is quite like C3PO, she is always negative and does not think about the 'pros' in the situation , rather the 'cons.' Lila is shy and has a large amount of knowledge on botany, she is also very caring to Max, her younger brother. Max has the funniest personality , he screams and cries, and loves potty humour. They are a great team and this book was very fun to read. Overall this book was funny, interesting and heartwarming. It's a must read and a great one for the whole family!
